The National Road Museum and Boonsboro Trolley Station Museum do not have any dedicated parking spaces.
Guests are encouraged to use street parking on either side of Main Street
Public parking lots are indicated in dark blue on the map below. If a lot is preferred over street parking, they may park in the Shafer Memorial Park lot behind our museums. There are also public parking areas behind Town Hall accessed from Center Street, and a public lot behind Turn The Page Bookstore accessed from Park Lane. The latter lots may be beneficial to guests looking to visit shops and restaurants downtown in addition to our museum.
During special events such as the Rescue Company Carnival, the Fire Hall may also provide parking for a fee in the field behind Alex Convenience & Gas, accessed by Stouffer Avenue.
There are two spaces in front of the National Road Museum. These may be used for unloading and loading of guests, or short (under 15 minute) parking. The two spots are reserved for this use, and assigned especially to serve the needs of charter and school buses which may arrive.

Volunteers are encouraged to use the Shafer Park lot in order to keep street parking free for visitors.
At times, our neighbors at Dealership for Life generously allow our volunteers use their lot directly beside the National Road Museum, but use of this lot is not guaranteed. Museum guests may park here to visit without being towed, however we should not promote that lot as public parking and it is posted for authorized vehicles only.
During town events when the Shafer Park lot and Dealership for Life lot are not available, we are permitted to park in the Public Works Lot accessed from Orchard Drive, behind the Town Garage. When parking in this lot, DO NOT obstruct the rear roll up door of the building or any official Town of Boonsboro vehicles.
