What is your experience?

We don't require our volunteers to have any previous experience with museums or knowledge of our subject matter, but it helps to know when training and scheduling or seeking committee or Board positions.
 
 

Policies Regarding Volunteers

The National Road Heritage Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit educational organization. It is our policy not to discriminate in any way any potential or current volunteer or guest based on race, age, color, religion, gender, sexual preference, disability or impairment, affiliation or belief.

The Foundation shall review your application and contact you regarding approval and training or to request clarification regarding any details herein.

If your application is approved, you will be provided with basic training related to the museum operating policies, and provided a PDF copy of the full policies and procedures. A physical copy of these policies and procedures is made available to volunteers at the museum and may be provided in physical form upon request.

Volunteers may terminate their relationship with our organization at any time by notifying the Executive Director or an Officer of the Board of Directors. Advanced notice in writing is preferable but not required. Likewise, the organization may dismiss an individual from volunteer service for any reason excluding those listed above.

 

Volunteer Agreement

By submitting this application, you agree that everything you have entered on this application is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that if the Foundation accepts your application you will adhere to and comply with all organization policies and procedures. Any knowingly inaccurate information may be grounds for denial or dismissal from volunteer service with our organization.

You also agree that you will waive and hold harmless the National Road Heritage Foundation, its officers, employees, other volunteers, the Town of Boonsboro and other operating partners both current and future, and shall not file any claims for injury or damages incurred while in volunteer service to or on property belonging or associated with the organization, except in cases which are the direct result of negligence on the part of the organization or individuals associated with the same.
