Spring 2025 Events

The National Road Museum and Boonsboro Trolley Station Museum will be hosting or participating in several events this spring and.

March 29

10am – 3pm: Start of the Road Day

Join us for special history talks, a historic bicycle display, children’s activity, a food truck and more as we celebrate the 219th anniversary of Congress approving the National Road! Learn more!

April 26

10am – 4pm: Boonsboro Spring Jubilee

Downtown Boonsboro comes alive with activities throughout the town.  Our museums will be open during the event.

May 18

~Noon: James Shaull Wagon Train Arrives

The National Road Museum will be open from 11am to 4pm as we welcome the James Shaull horse-drawn Wagon Train and National Pike Festival as they arrive at the end of their 3-day trek from Clear Spring, celebrating the historic transportation of the National Road.  The convoy will pass the museum and then return to enter Shafer Park where visitors will be able to meet the horses and wagon drivers.

May 31

10am – 4pm: Historic National Road Yard Sale Festival

The National Road Museum will be hosting yard sales on the lawn from 10am to 4pm as part of the Baltimore – St. Louis Historic National Road Yard Sale Festival.  The 800-mile event takes place May 28 – June 1, however the National Road Museum will participate Saturday May 31 only.  Reserve a space now.

June 21

10am – 4pm: National Road Museum Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Celebrate the opening of the National Road during this official Grand Opening ceremony.  Historic bicycles and automobiles, live music performance, food truck, and more.  Ceremony will begin at 11 am.
