In Case Of An Active Shooter

No one wishes to ever experience an active shooter situation, and we hope none of our volunteers ever will.  It is, however, good to be prepared in case something like that was to ever happen.

• Evacuate volunteers and visitors through the nearest exits
• Do not wait for anyone who refuses to leave, and do not attempt to rescue injured individuals
• Gather together at a pavilion beyond the streams in Shafer Park
• Call 9-1-1 once you are at a safe place.  Do not assume others will call 9-1-1.
• Once police arrive, follow all instructions you are given by the officers.

If you are unable to evacuate

• Lock yourself and others in a restroom, the breakroom, or the upstairs area.

◦Barricade the door however you can, remain silent, mute phones, await instructions by police.

◦Confront the attacker only if you cannot escape or hide.
