Being a greeter should be a pleasant volunteer experience. Here are a few asks we do have of you while you are serving in the greeter role:
Please arrive at least 5 minutes ahead of your scheduled shift start
Treat every guest with kindness and respect
Remain in the front area of the National Road Museum. If you need to take a break for any reason, ensure that someone can cover for you until your return.
When talking to others, keep your voice low as if our museum were a library. Sound carries and we want to minimize disruption or distraction for those guests exploring our exhibits.
Develop a working knowledge of downtown Boonsboro – primarily shops, restaurants, and directions to commonly requested destinations. More on this will be found in the Visitor Center lesson.
When you have downtime, there are a few tasks you can help out with. These are not requirements, however they are things that need done from time to time and your helping will save other volunteers time and allow for other tasks to be completed instead.
