Sometimes innocent conversations between volunteers will stray into topics which may come close to violating this rule. Honest and open dialogue is important for education and social betterment, however volunteers are expected to use discretion.
These rules apply to volunteers as well as guests.
If a guests is harassing volunteers or other guests in any way, museum volunteers may provide a warning or ask the guest to leave our property without a refund. Problematic guests may require volunteers to contact the Executive Director for resolution.
If a harassing guest becomes violent or belligerent, refer to the training or “red book” emergency policies for violent altercation. Do not aggravate or provoke potentially violent individuals. If you feel in danger you may remove yourself from the area and/or call the executive director. If you feel you are in immediate danger and have no other option you may contact emergency services.
