Often called the “Ag Center,” this campus of buildings and land can be found in the Boonsboro zipcode, but along Sharpsburg Pike just north of the Antietam Battlefield.
The Ag Center is home to the Washington County Rural Heritage Museum which is made up of 3 exhibit buildings and a “village” of preserved historic structures from across the county. The University of Maryland Cooperative Extension Office and Research & Education Center are both located here as well.
Over the year, the Ag Center hosts several major area events.
This successor to the Great Hagerstown Fair (albeit somewhat muted in fanfare) offers rides, local displays, agricultural resources, livestock displays and events, and a schedule of entertainment and shows. This event takes place the 2nd full week of July.
The County holds their 4th of July event at the Ag Center, and will be holding a large event for the 250th this year in 2026.
